Union files can be created from multiple sites thereby allowing libraries to take advantage of reduced cataloguing costs.
Non-MARC databases can be converted to full MARC allowing libraries to migrate from in-house database structures to MARC standard structures for subsequent loading into commercially available CIRC and OPAC systems.
